Little Haye Lake (Original sketch)
Little Haye Lake (Original sketch)
This is an original, small, drawing of the Nebraska Sandhills near Little Haye Lake. It is fascinating to think that these are sand dunes covered in grass. This little landscape was created in 20°F weather while sitting in the cab of a pickup truck. I used Blick Art pastel chalks and Prismacolor pencils, then sealed with Polycrylic.
Size: H: 3.5 inches X W: 5.5 inches
Media: Chalk pastel & colored pencil on Bristol board.
Year: 2023
MORE ABOUT THE ARTWORK:
The Nebraska Sandhills cover about a quarter of the state, and they are absolutely magnificent. The Nebraska Sandhills is one of the largest plant-anchored sand dune regions in the world and the largest sand dune formation in the Western Hemisphere. My husband loves hunting pheasant here. We recommend bunking down in a little cabin at Lord Ranch near Valentine, NE.
