The Hurricane (Commission)
The Hurricane (Commission)
Cane (short for Hurricane) was a big, dark brown Chesapeake Bay Retriever who loved the hunt. He went duck hunting from the marshes of South Louisiana to the wetlands of Cheyenne Bottoms in Kansas. Everyone was amazed at the way he jumped into icy water to retrieve ducks – he was fearless. He also did some pheasant hunting in Kansas and Nebraska.
The media used to create this portrait are Blick chalk pastels and Ebony graphite pencil on Bristol board. The size of the image is H: 20 inches x W: 16 inches. If you would like to give this drawing/painting technique a try I recommend supplies from Blick Art.
NOTE: This is a commissioned artwork. Someone paid me to create it, therefore it is not for sale.
